What Archie does with your rooms, photos and conversations
This page explains what Archie collects, why we collect it, and what choices you have. We've kept it plain and straightforward.
Last updated: October 22, 2026
What we collect
- Account details, such as your email address and sign-in information.
- Project content, including room photos, briefs, preferences, conversations and feedback.
- Archie's output, including design ideas, images, 3D models and shopping plans.
- Support messages and the information you choose to include in them.
- Technical and usage data, such as page views, device information and error or security logs.
Room projects, photos and conversations are stored in Archie's systems. Some information is also saved in your browser to support the experience and keep your working copy responsive. You need an account to use Archie beyond the public website.
Why we use it
We process account and project information where it is needed to provide the service you request: signing you in, saving your work, generating designs and shopping results, and answering support requests.
We use limited technical and usage information for our legitimate interests in keeping Archie secure, diagnosing failures and improving how the product works. We consider the impact on people before using information this way. Where the law requires consent for a separate use, we will ask for it rather than treating account creation as blanket consent.
AI and your projects
Archie uses AI services to turn your room photos, preferences and conversations into design ideas, images and 3D models. These services process relevant project information to respond to your requests.
For shopping suggestions, search and product-matching services also process relevant search details and, where needed, parts of generated room images to find similar products.
We do not use your project content to train an AI model of our own. The production AI APIs we use operate under business or API terms that do not use submitted prompts and outputs to train their general models by default. If we need to use a development tool to diagnose a problem, relevant project information may be processed under that tool's business account and privacy settings, which can differ from the production APIs. We limit what we share and will update this policy before any material change to these arrangements.
We may review project information and generated output to investigate a problem, respond to feedback and improve Archie. Please do not submit passwords, financial details, health information or other sensitive personal information in a photo, brief or conversation.
Who helps us run Archie
We use service providers for hosting and storage, account management, email and support, AI generation, product search, and analytics and debugging. Supabase provides our database, account system and file storage. Vercel hosts the website and provides basic, privacy-focused site analytics. The other providers in these categories receive only the information needed for their part of the service.
When you buy a pass, Stripe processes the payment as the seller of record. Stripe receives your email address, what you bought and your payment details, and uses its own fraud-prevention cookies on the checkout page. Your card details go to Stripe directly; we never see or store them. We keep a record of each purchase (what it was, when, the amount and any refund) to provide the pass and because accounting law requires it.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect Archie or its users, or as part of a financing, acquisition, restructuring or similar business event. We do not sell personal information or publish your private projects for marketing without asking you first.
Cookies and browser storage
Archie uses cookies and browser storage for sign-in, security, the beta invite and core product functions. These are not used to track you across other sites.
Vercel Analytics gives us aggregate information about visits and does not use cookies. We do not currently use advertising trackers. If we add an optional analytics or marketing tool that requires consent, we will ask first.
How long we keep information
We keep account and project information while your account is active so your work stays available. After a verified deletion request, we remove the active account and project records unless we must keep something to meet a legal obligation or resolve a dispute. Copies in rolling backups disappear as those backups are replaced under the relevant provider's backup cycle.
We keep support messages while they are needed to answer your request and maintain a useful record of the issue. Purchase records are kept for ten years, as French accounting rules require, even after an account is deleted; they hold no designs or photos. Security and debugging logs are kept only for their operational window, or longer when a specific incident is still being investigated. We periodically review these criteria as the service develops.
International transfers
Archie is operated from France. Our providers may process information in the EEA, the United Kingdom, the United States and other countries where they operate. For transfers outside the EEA, we use an adequacy decision where one applies and the contractual safeguards in our provider agreements, including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses where required. Email us if you would like more information about the safeguard used for a particular provider.
Your choices
Depending on where you live, you may ask to access, correct, delete, export or restrict your personal information, or object to certain uses. You can also withdraw consent for a use that relies on consent. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
We respond without undue delay, normally within one month. If the law allows us more time for a complex request, we will tell you why and when to expect a response. If you are in the EU, you may also complain to your local data protection authority. In France, that is the CNIL.
